Canada is extending post-graduation work permits for up to 18 months to retain high-skilled talent. International graduates with recently expired or expiring post-graduation work permits (PGWPs) will be able to apply for an extended work permit to gain additional work experience. The new measures will begin on April 6, 2023, and will allow Canada to retain high-skilled talent. The additional work permit will allow eligible applicants to continue contributing to the Canadian economy while gaining valuable work experience and preparing for the opportunity to apply for permanent residence.
